What is the difference between ALL(), ALLEXCEPT(), and REMOVEFILTERS()?
In DAX, all three functions are used to remove filters, but they work differently:
ALL() removes filters from a table or column, allowing you to calculate values against the entire dataset.
ALLEXCEPT() removes all filters from a table except the specific columns you choose to keep filtered.
REMOVEFILTERS() clears filters from specified tables or columns and is generally preferred when the goal is simply to remove filters.
For example, CALCULATE([Sales], ALL(Product)) ignores all Product filters, while CALCULATE([Sales], ALLEXCEPT(Product, Product[Category])) removes Product filters but keeps the Category filter. REMOVEFILTERS(Product) provides a clear way to remove all Product filters.
